Visible Music with The Azerbaijan A/V Club

By | Event | No Comments

We’re always thrilled to have the chance to play at La Sala, the best (and just renovated) projection venue in Brooklyn.  But it’s even better when we get to do it with a whole slate of absolutely killer artists!  In two weeks, we invite you toVISIBLE MUSIC, an evening of music and video in collaboration!  Featuring:

Sean Smith: If you remember Subtonic, you remember the great minimal techno group, Socks & Sandals.  Sean’s back in NYC and will be doing a solo set of bleeps and beats in collaboration with…

Chris Jordan (a.k.a. Seej): Acclaimed artist and my VJ mentor, Chris has been doing video art and installations around the country for over a decade.

Your Grace Adrianna Natalie: Just signed to the Alrealon Musique label, Natalie blends techno, house, and a bit of post-punk into a thick stew, which she’ll be pouring down the throat of…

HF Preto (a.k.a. Siriphong Tipayakesom): The mad genius behind PDNY, proud bicoastalist, and occasional anti-gentification activist.

The Azerbaijan A/V Club: If you’re on this list, you know who we are and you know what we do.  Now you get to see us with 15′ screens all around!

This is going to be an amazing night of electronic music and psychedelic visuals, in a wildly immersive environment.  Don’t miss it!

But,” I hear you cry, “What will I do with myself in the two weeks I’m waiting for this fantastic show?”  Fear not!  There’s quite a few other lovely events in the lead-up!

Saturday, Nov. 5, 8:30ish PM
SpaceSpace, 390 Seneca Ave, Ridgewood, NY

We’ll be playing a house party at our beloved rehearsal venue, SpaceSpace, with spacemates Sister Munch and Muffin Drill.  If you’ve ever thought “I wanna hear experimental multimedia jazz *and* feminist metalcore *and* indie folk-punk,” then your dreams are about to come true.  (Facebook event)

Wednesday, Nov 10, 8 PM
IDIO Gallery, 976 Grand St, Studio D, Brooklyn, NY

Our woodwind player Amos Fisher will be debuting his original compositions for a 2-guitar rock band, together with poetry readings and chapbook premieres. (Facebook event)

Thursday, Nov. 11, 8 PM
Rollgate Studio, 272 Siegel St

Another Amos Fisher event, the debut performance of his straight-up rock’n’roll band, with Amos on drums and the great Lady Amber on vocals. (Facebook event)

Hope we’ll see you at some or all of these events!  In the meantime, here are a few clips to help cool that election fever.
